Alan Lewis

 Alan Lewis

Alan Lewis came to the island in the early 1970s and played for St Martins who along with Henry Davey were a dominant force in domestic cricket at that time. He was selected for the island side in 1974 and was awarded cap #63. In his 3 appearances he scored 61 runs and turned his arm over with 3-0-12-0. He was a pretty laid back person and is remembered for the match in 1976 at Victoria College when Jersey racked up 273 runs in a long 65 overs in the field when he was seen sitting in a deckchair at third man.

He was the opening partner with Tony Taylor in their demolition of Jersey in 1974 when Guernsey won by 10 wickets at FB Fields. He was included in Rob Batiste’s best XI in 2009.
