Andy

Andy, another off the Elizabeth College production line, played numerous times for the island in various competitions and was a more than useful left-handed batsman. He has been the mainstay of Optimists side, captaining them over many years.

He was capped for the island in 1995, #111 and has played 11 times. He scored 143 runs and took 5 catches. He was voted Player-of-the-year in 2001. He was the island captain from 2002 to 2006 and won all 5 matches.

He played in the ICC European Championship Division 2 in Scotland in 2006 and scored 44 runs in 3 innings. In 2012 Guernsey were forced to recall their former skipper to their squad for the World Cricket League Division Five tournament in Singapore. He was a late substitute for Tim Duke after the all-rounder injured his wrist in a cycling accident.

Andy was an excellent squash player as well. In his heyday he became a playing member of MCC.
