Mike attended Elizabeth College where he learned his cricket. He first played for Guernsey in the European Cricketer Cup in 1990. He was awarded his cap, #61, in 1973 and went on to play 14 times in the Inter-Insulars, 8 as wicketkeeper and once as captain in 1990. He scored 269 runs at an average of 22.4 with one 50 and was renowned for facing up to Barry Middleton and being hit quite a few times without flinching. He made 3 stumpings and took 5 catches. With such a name – MCC Webber – he was destined to play cricket.
