Keith Howick

Keith Howick

Keith was a very successful and stylish batsman at Elizabeth College where he scored 100* against Victoria College in 1969 in Jersey. He followed this up with 102* in 1970 in Guernsey and 114* in 1971 in Jersey.

He was awarded a GCA cap in 1971, #57 and was also voted the Young player-of-the-year. On leaving school he went to Oxford University where he played 5 first-class matches but never realised his potential by accumulating 51 runs but he did have a best score of 82* for Oxford University Authentics v Glamorgan 2nd XI. Whilst at Oxford University he had the distinction of batting at no. 4, above Imran Khan, who fared little better with the bat that season. Whilst at University he was also awarded a ‘Blue’ at hockey.

In his two appearances for Guernsey he scored 57 runs and bowled 15-4-42-5 with 2 catches. He was also nominated in Rob Batiste’s best XI.
